PHARMACY OPERATIONS & PRESCRIPTION ORDERS
- Our experienced Pharmacists perform routine drug utilization reviews (DUR) for all orders to screen for allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications.
- Policy and procedure manuals are provided at each of your nursing stations.
CONSULTING SERVICES
- Our staff offers a wealth of pharmacy knowledge regarding state and federal regulations, as well as Disease State Management.
- Our comprehensive reviews ensure that medication is administered correctly with regard to meal times.
- From the time of admission to in-house medication review, we ensure that your residents’ medication use is maximized.
DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
- We supply hospital beds, wheelchairs, walkers, canes, crutches, commodes, shower chairs…and much more!
PHARMACISTS ON-CALL
- Pharmacists are on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They handle after-hours calls and dispense medication for emergencies and holidays.
GENERAL BILLING
- We bill Medi-Cal, Medicare, and most insurance agencies directly. If there are any charges not covered, the responsible party will receive bills at their residence for co-pays and non-billable items once a month.
- We are committed to meeting or beating local retail prices.
- Our expert billing staff will bill the appropriate insurance and make certain that all claims are accounted for. All billing is done electronically to ensure accuracy and timely reimbursement.
- Monthly statements are sent to facilities billed based on the contract and formulary agreement, detailing each drug provided for each patient on a particular date.
- If you have any questions, our in-house billing staff will be more than happy to guide you. Flexible payment options are available upon request.
IV MEDICATIONS
- Sterile IV medications, supplies, and infusion pumps can be provided when needed at a predetermined contractual rate.
- Total entereal nutrition (TPN) compounding is available, and competitive pricing will be offered based on patient-specific formulation.
ORDERING & DELIVERY
- Ambar LTC Pharmacy will work with your nursing and administration staff to streamline all your facility’s ordering and delivery needs.
DELIVERY
- Routine delivery of medications to the LTC facility 7 days a week. Emergency delivery service will be provided, if necessary, 24 hours a day, based on the circumstances.
- Residents can have medications ordered by their facility nurse and delivered to them in a uniform dosing package.
- We deliver to Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside Counties.
- We manage our own delivery system to ensure appropriate delivery of all medications in a timely manner and in compliance with Title 22.
- We provide a packing slip with every delivery.
- We offer ongoing in-services and training to make the nursing staff proficient in the process for ordering and receiving medications.
ORDERING ACCURACY
- We use an electronic prescribing system to streamline workflow, reduce errors, and increase productivity.
- Physician’s order and MAR review comparison are done at the time of data entry and dispensing to ensure that the records of our pharmacy dispensing system are accurate.
- Order verification is done by Pharmacists, with imprint of drug identification on the label and bar coding technology used to assist in medication error prevention.
SPECIAL PACKAGING
- We package drugs in unit-of-use packaging, bingo cards, unit doses, or other special packaging commonly required by LTC facilities.
- Medication is delivered in sealed containers, accommodating for refrigeration of certain items.
EMERGENCY KITS
- Customized emergency supplies of oral, injectable, IV, and refrigerated medications are prepared as E-Kits in compliance with Title 22 requirements.
